I'm not sure what you mean by the /doc/cls?
It would make sense to follow your advice, but all I would know to do is
double click on an mdb file... ?

I have had this problem(not just with mdb's but doc and xls) with
windows/office 2000. the workaround is to tempoarily make the user the
administrator. double click a mdb/doc/cls and go through the install
process. Insert the Office disc asked for. Once this is done once go
back
and change the user's security back to what it was.

On two out of four computers at a school running my application, I can't
double click on an mdb file to open it. If I try that OR if I try to
associate .mdb with Access, I get this error:
Microsoft Office 2000 SR -1 Disk 2
(tries to look for disk for a while)
Error 1706. No valid source could be found for product Microsoft
Office
2000 SR - 1 Disk 2.
Since this is a school environment, I need to deal with the bureaucracy
to
update windows or office. Or is this an update I can get from the
internet? Can I be more helpful to them than simply sending the error
message?
The computers are Windows 2000 and one is running Access 2000 (9.0.3821
SR-1). The second is running Access 2000, but I'm not sure of the patch
numbers.
