i need help badly - im pretty new to this and i have spent ages doing this db
for work. I dont know whether i need to adjust it or just plain scrap it.
Its for a garage - i have a customer details table and have a form made from
the same fields (i do most of my imputting onto form)
Table and form have same name "Mot Reminders1".
I have 4 tabs on the form - Cust details - Mot - Service - Winter chk
The fields are as follows-
AutoNo (primary) - CustName - Address - Tel - Vehicle descrip - Vehicle reg
- date mot passed - date mot due - mot remind date - service due - service
remind date - winter chk due - winter chk date.
I have a report - winter chk, which when i open i have it set to print only
1 record per page.
I also have a switchboard with links to letters in word and advert in
publisher.
Thats the basic basis of my database.
Im pulling my hair out as i need to have a command button on switchboard
which will enable me to do a find (not the access find/replace) but a gray
type parimeter box in which i can type either the name or vehicle reg - which
then will open that record in form.
Then on the form itself i wanted a command button which will take me to the
report and insert only the record that i found. from there i wanted a print
button to print the current report page.
I have read every thread in every catagory - i have scoped a guys website
who regulary replies in here - alan browne - i have looked through the access
online help pages and the training and also asked the office assistant.
I have no problem in getting the button on - im having the problem with the
on click expression - iv never done that in vb before - and i dont know where
the code should go - please please could someone type the code i need - if
not for both buttons then just for the one that goes on form and opens report
with the current record, i know you have a policy in here that if you do it
for me i wont bother to learn but belive me i leant a lot over the past week
of trying to find this - but cannot grasp this vb thing. Im even bringing it
home with me now as i am so desperate to get this db finished.
Forever grateful if you could help me
.
