For MS Office updates on the Micrososft.com Web download site, if Windows XP
isn't listed as a supported OS, then follow the instructions for Windows
2000. For automated scans and updates for Windows and Office, you may visit
the following Web pages:

http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/catalog/en/default.asp

http://office.microsoft.com/officeupdate/mainCatalog.aspx

You may also set Windows XP to automatically download and install any new
updates, too.

As a minimum for Office 2K, you need SP-1a, SP-3 (SP-3 includes SP-2), and a
security patch:

(The following file is just a small setup utility that, when executed, will
download a much, much larger file from the Internet, so be prepared.)

Depending upon your particular configuration, such as support for multiple
languages or Web server components, you may need additional updates, which
are available on the following Web page:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdate/CD010225771033.aspx

You also need Jet 4.0 SP-8 and MDAC 2.8 SP-1 (included in Windows XP SP-2)
installed. I'm not sure whether Windows XP SP-2 includes this Jet service
pack, but it won't hurt anything to install it again. Download
WindowsXP-KB829558-x86-ENU.exe from the following Web page:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=239114

Windows XP SP-2 may be downloaded from the following Web page:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/sp2/default.mspx
