Hit the "Insert" key on your keyboard.

All of a sudden, my cursor is behaving strangely. Instead of the "I" bar
cursor, I have a black box. When I put the cursor in a word, It selects a
character. The arrow keys just move to box to a different character. I
don't
know what I did, but I'd sure like to undo it!
