Help!

I have a data base of equipment. I have hyperlinked
drawings to the equipment for which drawings exist. I have
created a search by equipment number to allow people to
search for drawings by equipment number. Is it possible to
attach a comment to equipment that do not have a drawing
hyperlinked to them so that if someone types in an
equipment number into the search and that equipment number
does not have a drawing linked to it, a message will come
up saying "no drawing available"?
