Oliver
Is the same performance hit obvious when working with other software? If
so, other possible causes include slow network card settings and/or a slow
LAN.
How heavily used is the server on which you have placed the data?
Finally, there are certain versions of certain network-based anti-virus
software that interfere with Access front-end/back-end splits in a major
way, possibly because of the file-server nature of Access. In at least one
such situation (mine), the network gurus allowed an exception to the Access
applications in the network anti-virus, and the application resumed normal
speed operation.
