search back a week or two on this group for another discussion of this error
on vista. the same fix with a slightly longer list of files works there.
the problem is that xp-sp2 and vista don't have some of the files that the
packaging wizard prerequisite checker is looking for. the fix is to tell
the packaging wizard's installer to not check for the files that aren't
there any more.

It's a known problem, have you seen this:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/837150/en-us
"You may receive error messages when you install an Access 2002 runtime "
At the same time, I don't believe this always fixes it.
If you have access yourself to the computer (as against asking a customer
to
do it), it is often possible to install the Access Runtime as a separate
step
(using it's own Setup), and then "all" you have to do is copy your app
files
somewhere and manually create a suitable shortcut. At least, that bypasses
any
problems with using PDW Setup, messy though it may be.
As to what exactly is going on, I don't know, just some desperate fixes!

Hi,
I am using Office XP Developer package and deployment wizard to deploy an
Access 2002 application with runtime. It has always worked before, but I
just tried it on a new computer with XP SP2. I am getting the error that
it
can't install because Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6 is required. As far
as
I can tell all the service pack updates have been applied to my
development
machine prior to trying the package.
I tried getting that service pack and it won't install either.
Does anyone have a suggestion on what is going on?
Beth
