Re: How to add PDFs to Access 2003 database?

The pdfs open or fail to open randomly, and there is no pattern to it. They
are all stored in the same folder, that is why I find it strange that some
open and some fail.
Everything works perfectly on the computer, but as soon as written on a cd,
a couple of the pdf.s fail to open.
Maybe I'll just have to redo everything. (It will be a good practice, since
I have been introduced to access only two weeks ago :D )
Thanks for the advice, it was really helpfull.
have a great weekend!

Do the ones that don't open through your application open from the CD if you
double-click on them or open them from within Acrobat Reader? If not, it
would sound as though there was something wrong with the burn of the CD.

The fact that some work well makes me suspect that it's not something you
did. Unless there's some commonality about which ones open and which ones
don't, such as you've got more than one folder of documents, and all of the
documents in one folder open, and none of the documents in the other folder
open, in which case show us the code you're using.

Thanks you. I have done this and everything works. I have a problem
still.
My boss wants the database on a cd, so she can read the articles at her
convenience, and even though I have the folder containg the documents on
the
same cd, the database does not open every pdf. Some work perfectly, some
just
won't open. Is there something I did wrong?

The best way to do it is not to store them in the database. Store them
externally, and simply store the file information in the database.

Hi!
I am rather new at this and now it seems that I got stuck :)
I am working on a database that requires pdf documents attached to
its
records. Basically the database stores information about some articles,
and I
need to attach a pdf copy of that article to each record.
Which is the best way to do it?
I have tried to add the pdf as linked OLE objects, and everything was
fine
and working well untill I tried to copy the database to a different
computer.
I keep getting various types of errors and most of my pdf.s do not
open.
I would appreciate any suggestion!
thanks
