back end relative reference in a distributed application

I have a split db that my client needs to distribute to vendors.
The zip file contains a folder, MSDS, that contains a folder, BE, that
contains the BE.mdb.
In addition to the MSDS folder and its contents, the zip file has the Hazmat.
mde FE file.
How do I link the FE to the BE when I distribute the zip file? The links all
refer to my desktop. Is there a way to create "relative" links in Access?

I need to distribute an mde FE to protect the code, but the BE data has to be
returned to my client for incorporation into a master db at the client site.
The vendors can not be relied upon to be savvy enough to link the tables. I'd
actually like to hide the BE and am considering using user level security to
hide the be objects.
