I believe the short consensus was Access 2002 (XP) was best "current stuff".
There is always likely to be some issues if they have other versions of
MS-Access installed. Some of us distribute apps in multiple versions depending
on what the customer already has, but you can imagine that's also a nuisance.
I am still happily distributing A97 apps (along with an A2k version, depending
on what the customer has nearest).
But consider this: A97 is way obsolete and now too old. Regardless of whether
it works, I am in the process of discarding it solely for that reason. It
would not make sense to me, to write a new app in A97. It would make sense to
use Access XP, because though itself obsolete, the current Access 2003 is just
"too new and untested" for some tastes. In 2yrs that will also be obsolete, so
you see it's a merry-go-round! Access XP at least has reasonably good reports.
Howzat?
Chris
