In fact, I have SPECIFICALLY obtained approval twice, from Microsoft, to
downgrade on behalf of a newsgroup poster. Of course I couldn't complete the
transaction in my own name (I have everything anyway). That is a little bit
less theoretical than "been told" "have heard", don't you think?
What HAS changed, is that more Office have come out and MS may well have
changed the rules on us. And the two times I pursued it to a satisfactory
conclusion, MS didn't make it easy for me. For instance, one MS employee one
day says "You CANT". So, wait a few days and get another employee. That's how
PSS appears to operate-they don't even know their own rules.
Oh sorry. Nothing against you or any other replier. It just pays to persevere,
especially if one is in the "cactus".
Do you know that, technically, if you buy an "Upgrade" you are not allowed to
run any prev version anymore? I say, let Microsoft prosecute. Just try it. (I
wouldn't want to give all the defences, not here). OTOH, my record shows I am
all for being properly licensed.
Cheers
Chris
