Re: MDB made on one pc to be used on another.

Hi,

I have copied it onto a memory stick and I will call over there and see if
that works.

I also uploaded the file to my website and got them to download it from
there but with the same result and error message.

Pity -I hoped being able to email files as attachments would save a 30 mile
round journey!

Hi,

I've had the same experience. Mailed an .adp-file to a customer. He got
the
described errormessage. Then I zipped the file and sent it to him. He
unpacked and got the same errormessage.
Then I burned it on a CD and mailed it. He copied it onto his PC. It
worked
fine. All three files are from the same .adp-file which had not been
opened
between the various 'shipments'

I think it is some misunderstood safety precaution - but I cannot gather
if
it is the mailsystem, Windows or Access.

I have this real problem!

A friend needs a database with a lot of addresses etc in and gave me
their
information in an Excel work***.

I imported the data and made an Access database here at home, editing it
as
I went along. It works fine here (Access 2003 and set to default to make
a
database in 2002-3).

I emailed it to them and they saved the attachment in their own database
directory, but when they try to open it they get the message:

'This file is located outside your intranet or on an untrusted site.
Microsoft Access will not open the file due to potential security
problems.'

I tried a work around by uploading the file to my website and getting
them
to download it from there after telling them to:

1.In Internet Explorer, click Tools, and then click Internet Options.
2.On the Security tab, click Local intranet, and then click Sites.
3.Click Advanced, and then type: (my IP address was here) in the Add
this
Web site to
the zone box.
4.Click Add, click OK, click OK, and then click OK again to close the
Internet Options dialog box.
5.Restart the computer.

Needless to say it still doesn't work.

How can I make a database made on my pc open on another person's pc?

Thanks in advance for any help?

Noel
